Molly Fisher, President
Molly is an accomplished
educator and philanthropist who has lived in Mexico since 1999. She has dedicated herself fully to identifying appropriate and sustainable programs
to serve the needs of local communities. The program she has developed are focused predominantly on education, economic empowerment, social enterprises,
animal welfare, and the environment. Molly currently resides in Bucerias.
Gabriela Roman Urtiz, Secretary
In January 2007, Gaby Roman agreed to join the Foundation board.
Gaby attended Escuela International de Turismo in Mexico City, receiving a degree in Tourism Administration.
"I have never liked living in a big city, so when I met my future husband, John, we moved to Bucerias, Nayarit.
John, a social studies teacher at the American School, and I have a 6-year old son, Elliot .
I manage private homes in the north bay area. Working with
PEACE gives me the chance to give back to my community on many different ways.
Marcia Vara, Treasurer
Marcia was born in Monclova, Coahuila and raised in Guadalajara.
She received a Bachelors Degree in Marketing Administration from el Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO)
Guadalajara in 1999.
She managed sales, accounting and personnel for Alta Fibra, a market leading regional chain of bakeries from 2000-2004.
She was an integral part in the founding stages of La Vida, a 23 unit luxury real estate development in the Riviera Nayarit, and
oversaw administration and bookkeeping from 2005-2007.
She has been working with
PEACE as bookkeeper and administrative assistant from 2007 to the present and she is also a member of the board
of directors.
Gretchen DeWitt
Gretchen is an experienced journalist, fundraiser and special events organizer.
She moved to Mexico from Sausalito, California in October 2006. She is the owner of Gretchen De Witt Public Relations (San Francisco).
She also co-founded the SPCA de PV in July 2007, and is a founding member of Planetree – a US healthcare organization. She practices yoga, swims, walks her dog and reads daily.
She loves to travel to strange and faraway places.
Melissa Floca
Melissa has been an active volunteer with
PEACE since 2008 and a frequent visitor to Puerto Vallarta since 2004.
She is originally from New Orleans and currently works as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Mexico City.
In her free time she enjoys surfing, traveling and playing tennis.
She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Columbia Business School.
Eduardo Mendez
Eduardo is originally from Veracruz and has participated with
PEACE since its inception as a founding board member.
He has been actively involved in spay and neuter programs throughout Mexico for nine years and now runs the Ayuda a
los Animales program on a full time basis.
Eduardo is deeply connected to the local community and brings great insight and knowledge to the
PEACE team.
Fernando Valerio
Fernando became involved with
PEACE in the summer of 2009 and is very concerned about social and economic justice in Mexico.
He was born in Guadalajara and moved to Bahía de Banderas in 2002 when he realized that being further than 10 minutes away from
the Pacific Ocean was being in the wrong place.
He loves to surf and do anything related to being in the water.
Fernando works as a financial advisor.
