INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
Excel in a global work environment by participating in a PEACE internship!
Our interns learn experientially alongside staff members, gaining
tremendously valuable work experience and bettering communities
throughout Mexico.
The
natural beauty of Puerto Vallarta’s jungle, beach and mountains draw
millions of visitors from around the world. Delicious seafood and
Mexican cuisine are offered from a wide range of restaurants. The
easy-to-use bus system provides the means to explore the extreme
biodiversity of the bay or enjoy some of the best surfing, snorkeling,
and fishing in Mexico. Interns can also practice their Spanish language
skills by speaking with the warm-spirited, friendly people.
PEACE interns not only enjoy popular natural and ethnic attractions, but are immersed fully into authentic small- town culture. PEACE is
located in Punta de Mita, a fisherman’s village of 3,000 people, one
and a half hours north of Puerto Vallarta. This area has so much to
offer, but also has great need. Poor environmental awareness, rampant
unwanted pet populations, and lack of education and business
opportunities are crippling to local communities. Selected interns help
bring positive change to these areas.
Be the change. Educate a child, help start a business, save an
animal, start a community garden. Help transform a community, and
transform your life in the process.
1.) "I had the opportunity to
develop my own project and my own guidelines.
By interning in PEACE, I learned to work in an environment where I
developed the capacity to be more self-empowered. I learned how to be more extroverted by
interacting with people from the communities, learned about their necessities,
and about their culture." Jorge Villanagra
"My favorite aspects about being an intern at PEACE was the Spanish Class: great teacher, great
for conversational skills, The excursions: very diverse (beach,
ocean, mountains), loved the educational/curious components of these and Contributing to PEACE," Adrienne Nothnagle
3.) " I really enjoyed the housing. I liked that
we weren’t in some resort or hotel, and we actually lived like the people who
live there do. Having our own bedroom was really nice, and the place itself was
very clean." Devin Redmond
"I loved learning Spanish
because we would get a lesson in the morning, then put it to use later that
day. It was so much fun having a chance to practice every time I went out.The chance to do actual work, like any
internship, was awesome. Building up the
skill set while making a valuable impact in a great organization is invaluable. The people we get to work with are
excellent as well. Everyone at PEACE, as well as the other interns, was a treat
to work with. Being around such dedicated, caring people made the experience
all that much better." – Matt Carlin
